Utah’s growth is a blessing, but if we don’t plan responsibly, it can put real pressure on our roads, water, schools, and public safety. Families across our communities are feeling the effects through longer commutes, rising housing costs, and infrastructure struggling to keep up.
I believe in a conservative approach to growth: local control, fiscal responsibility, and making sure growth pays for growth.
The answer is not more heavy-handed mandates from Salt Lake or Washington. Local communities know their needs better than bureaucrats do. Cities should have a strong voice in how they grow, while the state focuses on supporting critical infrastructure that keeps Utah moving.
Utah already has thousands of approved housing units waiting to be built. One of the biggest barriers is infrastructure. Roads, water, sewer, and utilities must be in place before growth can happen responsibly. If we want to improve affordability and protect quality of life, we need to invest wisely in the infrastructure that unlocks housing and strengthens communities.
As your State Senator, I will fight for:
The family is the foundation for a strong society. The family is being attacked on every front: in the media, in our schools, and now at the very doorstep of our homes. Even parent’s rights are now being challenged. I believe in parental rights and responsibilities. I will work to draft policies that protect the family, especially our children.
Education is the foundation of a strong and prosperous community. I am committed to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to receive a high-quality education that prepares them for college, career, and future life. Parents are the primary stakeholders in their child’s education and are best equipped to make informed decisions on their children’s education. Their involvement and voice is critical. Parents should have the right to choose the educational setting that best suits their children’s needs. LIkewise, education decisions should be made on a local level, where parents and communities have a direct understanding of their student’s needs. Federal overreach in education leads to one-size-fits all approaches that fail to address the unique needs of individual students and values of the local community.
Utah has become one of the fastest growing states in the country, especially in District 48 (Herriman, Riverton, and South Jordan). With this growth we’ve experienced increased traffic, lack of transit options, utility access issues, and overcrowded schools. Investment in infrastructure will be a top priority of mine. I will work to ensure that we have the roads, schools, utilities, transit, public safety, and healthcare services that meet our needs. Smart growth means being proactive in planning ahead, making decisions locally, and investing in infrastructure in a cost effective way without compromising the character of our cities.
Every human life bears inherent dignity and worth. I am committed to protecting the unborn, empowering women, and fostering a society that cherishes every life. I believe in the sanctity of human life and in advocating for a society where every person is valued and supported. That means supporting life at every stage of life.
As a small business owner, I firmly believe that business is the cornerstone of economic growth and prosperity. Business is the engine to economic vitality, and should be empowered to scale, innovate, and create jobs to drive a working society. I am committed to lowering tax burdens and reducing over regulation on small businesses. Excessive taxing stifles entrepreneurial spirit and hinders businesses from thriving. By reducing tax burdens on businesses, they can innovate, expand operations, and create new opportunities for employment. Similarly, over-regulation strangles business growth and innovation. Regulation is necessary but should balance between protecting consumers while ensuring that businesses have the flexibility to operate efficiently and effectively.
I believe that law-abiding citizens have the inherent right to own and use firearms to protect themselves, their families, and their property from harm, as guaranteed in the Constitution.
Working in the technology sector, I see innovation and transformation every day, especially with developments in machine learning and generative artificial intelligence. Technology is rapidly changing and there is a need for ethical guidelines, transparency, and oversight. I am committed to a balanced approach of protecting the privacy of individuals and families, while allowing individuals and businesses to be innovative with new and emerging technologies.
